JP Wright - MCC Missionary

JP works with UCCF (Universities and Colleges Christian Fellowship) as a CU Staff Worker.

Spending time on campuses between Durham and Teesside, JP has opportunity to encourage the CU’s (Christian Unions) in their love for Jesus and in sharing the gospel. Christian Unions are mission teams that operate at the heart of university and college campuses.  They are led by students, resourced by Christian Union Staff Workers and supported by the local church. Together, we are reaching students for Jesus.

After growing up in a Christian family in Harrogate, JP went to Durham University to study Engineering. After graduating, JP completed a year-long Intern scheme with UCCF. He then spent two years working for a church in the often misunderstood city of Kingston-upon-Hull!

Now, back in Durham, JP has spent the last several years serving students in Durham and Teesside, supporting the Christian Unions, teaching in conferences and leading teams of students on short term mission trips. In his spare time, JP is passionate about films and friends, reading and good coffee. He is a keen photographer, a struggling blogger and enjoys both cooking and eating good food.
